UW Colleges Begins Search For New Provost

By UW Colleges

UW Colleges and UW-Extension Chancellor Cathy Sandeen released the following statement on the search for a new Provost.

After more than three decades in service to UW Colleges—including seven as provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs—Greg Lampe announced his retirement in December 2016. We are all sincerely grateful to Greg for his unwavering dedication and countless contributions to the UW Colleges.

This is a critical position during a critical time. Therefore, I have moved expeditiously to identify a successor. We have engaged AGB Search to assist us with this vital recruitment and have formed the VC for Academic Affairs/Provost Search Committee. This committee was formed with input from many of you and is purposely designed to represent as many of our various constituencies and regions as possible. The committee members are:

Amy Reddinger (Chair), Associate Professor, UW‐Marinette
Renee Anderson, Regional Executive Assistant, Northeast Region
Jennifer Heinert, Associate Professor, UW‐Waukesha
Troy Kozma, Associate Professor, UW‐Barron County
Kirthi Premadasa, UW‐Baraboo Sauk County
Martin Rudd, Regional Executive Officer/Dean, Northeast Region
David Schejbal, Dean, UW‐Extension CEOEL
Stephen Schmid, Regional Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, UW‐Waukesha

Lee Wagner, Academic Librarian, UW‐Fond du Lac

The committee is staffed by Jason Beier, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources. The general timeframe for the work of this committee will be from late January through May 2017. Our goal continues to be to have the position filled around June in order to ensure a smooth transition.
