UW Colleges Constitution

Preamble

Approved by the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents 9/10/93

The UW Colleges 13 two-year collegiate campuses are an institutional unit of the University of Wisconsin System. As such, the UW Colleges participates in, adheres to, and is subject to the overall mission, goals, and regulations which have been enacted and adopted by the state legislature and the board of regents for the university system. Chapter 36 of the state statutes and the regent document on personnel rules are therefore primary sources for defining authority and determining structure. Another such source is the UW Colleges mission as defined by the board of regents (see Appendix I).

This constitution develops and amplifies the manner in which these sources will be implemented for the institutional governance of the UW Colleges.
