Drug Information

The Mess Of It All by Michelle Cat

Acoording to a March 2009, UW Colleges survey, most UW Colleges students are not actively involved with illegal drugs. However, marijuana use/abuse has been on the increase, with 19% of students reporting they used marijuana at least once in the past 30 days. Along with national trends, prescription drug abuse is also on the rise, while illicit street drug use is stable or on the decline. For UWC students, 4% reported abusing prescription stimulants (ADHD medications) in the past 30 days. 5% said they abused prescription narcotics (Oxycontin, Vicodin, etc) in the past 30 days. And, 2% had abused sedatives like Valium and Xanax in that same time period. These numbers are slightly higher than in previous surveys administered in 2007 and 2005.

e-Toke is a free, confidential marijuana assessment specifically designed for colleges students. It takes about 5 minutes and you get several pages of personalized feedback. Find out how your using may/may not be impacting other aspects of your life.
