Statement

Mathematics is a cornerstone to a liberal arts education, as it provides a foundation for success in the sciences and engineering. I believe that, like learning a musical instrument or competing in a sport, mathematics takes focused practice. With this in mind, I aim to foster confidence with algebra and logic through varied types of assignments. I strive to create an encouraging and enjoyable learning environment, and I am always investigating methods to more effectively support student progress. Finally, I am dedicated to promoting quantitative literacy, so that regardless of where my students' academic interests take them, they will be better prepared to interact with math in their daily lives.

I am a 2014-15 recipient of the Arthur M. Kaplan award, and a 2014 Roadrunner of the Year
