UW Colleges Campus Climate Survey

UW Colleges Campus Climate Survey

The UW Colleges strives to be a place where students, faculty and staff feel comfortable and welcomed. As Chancellor David Wilson states, "I value and believe in the central importance of an open, tolerant, welcoming work and learning environment, and in respect for the minds and creativity of all people, being ever mindful of the richness inherent in the widely diverse backgrounds of those in our campus communities." A welcoming and inclusive climate is grounded in respect, is nurtured by continuous attention to climate, and by open dialogue. In order to better learn how life is experienced day-to-day on campus, the UW Colleges is participating in the UW System Diversity Climate Study with the UW Colleges Campus Climate Survey.

This survey will be offered at each of the thirteen University of Wisconsin Colleges campuses, UW Colleges Online, and the UW Colleges Central Administration on March 31-April 18. It will be open to everyone on campus and in the Colleges – students, staff, and faculty – and everyone is strongly encouraged to take part. We can only begin to make our institution a better place to learn and work once each campus hears back from the student body, staff and faculty.

It is important to note that this is a confidential survey that can be completed either online or in written form. Answers will be strictly confidential and anonymous. Each campus will receive reports of group results only, and no individual will be identifiable in the results.

Respondents who complete the survey will be given the opportunity to enter a drawing. Eight respondents will receive a $50 or a $100 gift certificate to the campus bookstore. A total of six $50 and two $100 certificates will be given away across the UW Colleges.

At UW-Richland, I found what I wanted - a small campus where I can get more attention from professors while I get use to a college atmosphere. I really enjoy the cordial environment, hospitable people, and my classes.
