Julie Bunczak, lecturer in the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County (UWMC) Department of World Languages, has received the 2012 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching for Instructional Academic Staff.
Now in her seventh year, Bunczak teaches French at UWMC and to students at several other UW Colleges using video-conferencing technology. She was nominated by her peers and students for this award and was one of only two faculty members from the 13 UW Colleges to receive it in 2012.
“I feel like I won the job lottery when I was hired at UWMC,” Bunczak said. “I have been very fortunate to have dedicated and fun students, supportive colleagues and administrators and community members who enthusiastically embrace other cultures. They motivate me to be a better teacher.”
