If you have previously studied German, French or Spanish, you may take a placement test to determine which course would be best for you. Contact Student Affairs.
Retroactive Credits In World Languages
If a student places into a second-semester course or above and receives a grade of B or better in that course, he or she is automatically awarded credits for the prerequisite course(s). For example, if a student places into second-semester Spanish (SPA 105) and receives a B, she or he will receive not only the four credits for SPA 105 but also four credits for SPA 101. These credits are free and count as elective requirements for the Associate Degree. For SPA 201, the student will receive eight retroactive credits, for SPA 205 twelve retroactive credits. The same is true for French and German.
