UW Colleges Money Matters

Online Loan Entrance Counseling

Federal student aid regulations require first-time Federal Stafford Loan borrowers to undergo loan entrance counseling. This serves as a means to educate students to the rights and responsibilities associated with receiving funds that must be repaid.

If you have not previously completed loan counseling at the University of Wisconsin Colleges, you must do so before any Federal Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loan monies may be released to you. The UW Colleges Student Financial Aid Office offers an Online Loan Entrance Counseling session for its students to meet this requirement.

To avoid delays in the receipt of Stafford Loan funds, you are encouraged to complete loan entrance counseling at least 10 days prior to the beginning of your first term of enrollment at a UW Colleges campus. The UW Colleges Student Financial Aid Office will automatically be notified after you successfully finish the online counseling session.
