Configuring Microsoft Outlook 2003 to access UW-Colleges email Accounts |

Assumptions:
|
|
1) Open the Control Panel by going to
Start -> Control Panel
If you are using Windows 2000 at home, skip to step 3.
|
|
2) Switch to classic view. To do this, click
"Switch to Classic View" in the upper left.
|
|
3) Within the Control Panel,
double click on the "Mail" icon.
|
|
4) Next, click on the "Show Profiles" button.
|
|
5) Then click the "Add" button to add a new
account.
|
|
6) Enter a profile name of your choice in the
"Profile name" field and click "Ok."
|
|
7) Select the "Add new email account" radio button
and click "Next."
|
|
8) Under "Server Type" select "IMAP" and
click "Next."
|
|
9) Enter your personal information in the
User and Logon Information fields as shown.
If you are a student and do not know your email
address, visit
https://www.uwc.edu/account.
Enter the following in the Server Information fields:

10) Select the "Outgoing Server" tab.
|
|
11) Check the "My outgoing server (SMTP)
requires authentication" box.
|
|
12) Select the "Advanced" tab and enter 2525 as the Outgoing server (SMTP) port number. Check both checkboxes to require a secure connection. When finished, the outgoing SMTP port should be 2525 and require a secure connection. The IMAP port should be 993 and also require a secure connection.
Click "OK" to continue.

13) Click "Ok," then "Next." Finally,
click on "Finish" to end the setup wizard. The account should
now be ready; you should have a new inbox in Outlook called "mail.uwc.edu."
