ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MATHEMATICS
University of Wisconsin-Fond du Lac
Position: The Department of Mathematics of the University of Wisconsin Colleges invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mathematics at its UW-Fond du Lac campus.
Required Qualifications: A Masters degree in Mathematics with 18 graduate credits in Mathematics beyond the Masters degree or equivalent degree in a closely related field is required. Excellence in undergraduate teaching is required.
Preferred Qualifications: A Doctorate in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or closely related field is preferred. Experience as a principal instructor of university freshman-sophomore level courses and experience in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and/or mathematics research, instructional technology, and learning communities are desired.
Responsibilities: The academic year teaching assignment is 24 credits and may include courses from introduction to college algebra through calculus, finite mathematics, statistics, quantitative reasoning, and mathematics for elementary teachers. Teaching excellence, professional growth, and service to the department, campus, and community are expected.
The University of Wisconsin Colleges: The UW Colleges is the freshman-sophomore liberal arts transfer institution within the UW System. UW Colleges functions as a unit that comprises thirteen two-year campuses, each of which offers an excellent liberal arts and pre-professional education for students beginning work toward a bachelor’s degree.
The Campus: The campus is located in eastern Wisconsin about an hour north of the Milwaukee metro area, with convenient access to Chicago, Madison and Green Bay. The campus is located on 183 acres of prime natural and maintained land on the outskirts of the city of Fond du Lac, a population of about 42,000 people (for details see http://www.fdl.com). UW-Fond du Lac (http://www.fdl.uwc.edu) is a commuter campus and recruits students from a radius of about 50 miles from surrounding areas. Abundant recreational opportunities exist typical of the Great Lakes region.

Salary: $43,000. Summer and Winterim sessions may offer additional opportunities for compensation.
