Position:

The Department of Mathematics of the University of Wisconsin Colleges invites applications for a full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Mathematics at UW-Washington County.

Qualifications:

A Master's degree in Mathematics with 18 graduate credits in Mathematics beyond the Master's degree is required. A Doctorate in Mathematics or Mathematics Education is preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to quality undergraduate teaching and learning. The department has preference for faculty with interests or experience in instructional technology, distance education, assessment of student learning, and/or collaborative learning.

Responsibilities:

The academic year teaching assignment is 24 credits and includes the full sequence from college algebra through calculus, as well as statistics, quantitative reasoning, and mathematics for elementary teachers. Teaching excellence, professional growth, and service to the department, campus, and community are expected.

The Campus:

The UW Colleges is the freshman-sophomore transfer institution within the UW System. UW Colleges functions as a unit that comprises thirteen two-year campuses, each of which offers an excellent liberal arts and pre-professional education for students beginning work toward a bachelor's degree.

The UW-Washington County campus is located in West Bend, a rapidly growing community in south eastern Wisconsin approximately twenty miles northwest of Milwaukee, with convenient access to both Chicago and Madison. The campus is located on 87 scenic acres in the beautiful Kettle Moraine. UW-Washington County is a commuter campus, attracting students from a five county area, and is the fourth largest of the thirteen UW Colleges campuses.
