English Lecturer Position

UW-Washington County

Position

The UW--Washington County campus in West Bend is seeking instructors to teach sections of the following types of courses during Fall semester, 2008.

ENG 101 COMPOSITION I.
A writing course that focuses on the basic techniques of composition, on the composing process with attention to drafts and revisions, and on coherence and organization of student essays. Prerequisite: Grade of C or better in Basics of composition or exemption based on placement test score. EL

ENG 102 COMPOSITION II
A rhetoric course that focuses on writing which presents information and ideas effectively, with attention to the essay and techniques of documentation. Emphasis will be on academic writing which is applicable across the curriculum. Prerequisite: ENG 101 or exemption through sufficiently high placement test score or consent of instructor. CORE

ENG 101 sections available meet on MWF 8:00-8;50am, T Th 8:00-8:50am, and MW 2:00-3:15 pm. The available ENG 102 section meets T Th 9:25-10:40am.

Additional teaching opportunities will be available for Spring semester.

Qualifications
  • Applicants must have a Master's degree in English.
  • Some teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
Salary
Depends on highest degree and amount of experience.
