GEOLOGY LECTURER POSITION
UW-Washington County
- Position
The UW--Washington County campus in West Bend is looking for an instructor to teach two world history courses during Fall semester, 2008.
GEO 123 PHYSICAL GEOGRAPHY: WEATHER AND CLIMATE
Study of Earth's atmospheric elements in both the short term (weather events) and long term (climate and climate change). Study includes: temperature; the seasons; pressure, wind and wind systems; humidity, cloud cover, stability and precipitation; jet streams, cyclones and fronts, thunderstorms, tornadoes and hurricanes. Study of the world's different climate regions, soils and vegetation; climate change (Greenhouse Effect, Ice Ages); and human interaction with weather and climate. Lab work includes data, map and chart analysis. Field trip(s) may be required. NS/LSGEO 123 meets MWF for lecture and MW 10:00-11:50AM for lab. A second lab section will be taught by a faculty member.
Similar teaching opportunities are available in Spring, 2009.
- Qualifications
- Applicants must have at least a Master's degree in physical geology.
- Some teaching experience at the university level is preferred.
- Salary
- Depends on highest degree and amount of experience.
