Regents vote to freeze UW Colleges tuition
Vote extends tuition freeze at 13 UW Colleges to 2006 levels.
MADISON, Wis. – The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents approved an annual operating budget and set tuition rates for the 2008-09 academic year at a meeting in Milwaukee.
UW System President Kevin P. Reilly recommended a budget based on the state's 2007-09 biennial budget, approved last year with bipartisan support.
Reilly's budget will freeze tuition for the second consecutive year for 12,500 resident students enrolled at 13 freshman-sophomore UW Colleges campuses.
With its tuition rates frozen at 2006 levels, UW Colleges will maintain its long-held reputation as the UW System's most affordable choice for incoming students who can then complete their baccalaureate degree at any four-year UW campus. The tuition at UW Colleges will remain at $4,268 for 2008-09. This is approximately $800 less than the four-year comprehensive campuses and $2,300 less than the tuition at UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee.
