Alcohol & Drug Education
The mission of the University of Wisconsin Colleges Alcohol and Drug Education Program is to promote healthy behavior in the college student population through education about risks related to alcohol and other drug use and abuse.
The goals of the program are listed below.
- Provide students with accurate and current alcohol and drug information
- Assist students in making low-risk drinking decisions
- Reduce alcohol and other drug use and abuse
- Advocate healthier lifestyle choices and positive alternatives
- Promote improved academic performance
To assist in achieving its goals, the UW Colleges Alcohol and Drug Education Program maintains its own website. The website is designed to offer students access to current alcohol and other drug information in addition to resources for many other aspects of student wellness. The site also has self-help information and tips for helping friends or family members.
Each campus sponsors alcohol awareness and healthy lifestye programs and activities. Students who are interested in helping or contributing to these activities should contact the campus AODE program manager for more information.
