Pre-College Assistance
UW-Rock County Project AHEAD
The University of Wisconsin-Rock County has a special precollege program for adults. Project AHEAD is an outreach program for adults in the Beloit-Janesville area with two offices located at UW-Rock County in Janesville and the Headstart Children and Family Center in Beloit. The program assists Rock County adults and their families in the development and achievement of educational goals. Project AHEAD addresses the educational, health, material and emotional needs of its participants in order to help them overcome obstacles to educational achievement. Services include college preparation and planning assistance, campus visits to provide exposure to the culture of higher education, home visits, assistance with the admissions and financial aid process, and referrals to community resources. For more information, contact Susana Hernandez, Coordinator of Project AHEAD, at 758-6565 x260, or via-email.
