UW Colleges Onlineoffers students the opportunity to earn an Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degree, complete requirements for other degree programs, and/or take classes for other individual reasons entirely online from anywhere including home, school, work, or traveling afar. The UW Colleges Online AAS degree fulfills the university-wide, college, school and general education breadth requirements for most bachelor's degree programs and is widely accepted by other institutions, including those within and beyond the University of Wisconsin System.
Hired for expertise in their subject areas, UW Colleges instructors teach all UW Colleges Online courses. These are the same courses developed and taught by the same instructors who teach in the UW Colleges classrooms. They utilize the same learning materials and have adapted and enhanced their courses to the interactive online environment with the assistance of professional instructional designers. The University of Wisconsin’s high academic standards and quality reputation back up every online course offered.
Effective July 1, 2018, the 13 two-year campuses formerly known as UW Colleges, joined seven of the UW System’s four-year comprehensive or research institutions as branch campuses. The two-year campuses, programs and course offerings are now accredited through their affiliated four-year university.
